If you’ve ever been by our shop you’d know we have a van or two in the parking lot (actually 4 to be exact). Well if you’ve been by lately you’d see we’ve added to the collection, but this time instead of another van we got ourselves a school bus. Yup, that’s right we’ve graduated from hippies with van’s to hippies with a fricken bus.
We opened a can of worms on our latest project and in a great way, the kind of way when you load one on a hook and know you’re about to catch a lunker.
We are thrilled to share that we will be taking part in this years Design Week! Over this past summer we had the opportunity to take on a new type of restaurant, one we had never gotten our hands on until now, sushi. Yup, that’s right! As we were cruising along the job we had dreams of California rolls, Spicy Shrimp Tempura rolls, fresh tuna and the infamous sake bombs.
As we are sifting through our projects from the past year, we are happy to show you a fun build we completed at the Seattle, Oregon REI for Subaru USA. Our dear friends at Field Scout Creative and Erik Johnson of Hankbuilt had a tight timeline before the holidays so they asked us to join teams with them and crank out a warm and cozy camp installation.
It’s hard to believe we were in Costa Rica an entire year ago but as we are getting ready to book our trips back this year we thought we would take some time to reflect on our last Pura Vida moments to get us even more stoked to hop on a plane and get our pasty white bodies, scorched.
With a few upcoming trips to Costa Rica, Spain and Portugal we came up with a fun playlist with some fun new vibes and sounds. We hope you like it as much as we do and it inspires you to books some tickets of your own. Cheers.
When past client and friend, Eric Mann of Aji Tram came to us and asked Make Shelter to be a part of his new venture we were on board 100%. It is pretty amazing to not only see our friends and clients grow but honored that they allow us to grow right alongside them in new endeavors

Portland Gear has become a staple for Northwesters and PDX lovers over the past years. They have infused the city with a tribe like gathering and continue in making our city proud. We were thrilled when the Gear crew asked us to help them increase their product visibility and showcase area through the addition of custom cabinets, hang displays, and shelving units.
Nestled in the heart of Oregon wine country in Dundee, Oregon, Dobbes Family Estates came to SHELTER in search of creating a new outdoor environment that expanded upon their tasting room and offered a flexible space that could be used year round.

We always feel that it is very important to get away from the normal routines of life and to try new things and visit new places, especially those that get you out of your comfort zone. It’s somewhat like hitting a reset button. You will always end up learning more about yourself and finding inspiration to bring back into your daily life.
SHELTER was born at the beach so when we got the call to build-out Seaside pizzeria, Angelina’s we did so without doubt. Check out our latest build out and let us know what you think.

It was always a life long dream since I can remember to buy an old van and turn it into an adventure mobile. I dreamed of traveling across the states and beyond exploring old dirt roads and hidden coastlines in search of waves and adventure.
Today we are stoked to bring you an update on one of our latest projects with Fieldscout Creative and Hydroflask. Take a look at these epic photos of Hydroflask Dawn Patrol at one of their tour stops in Cannon Beach, OR. Photos provided by the one and only, Fieldscout Creative
